Astoria's KX Burger Bar: Queens' Modern Sandwich Shop

I happened to stop by Astoria's KX Burger Bar as I was making my way over to the East River ferry, and stumbled upon something that I now want to grab every time I'm in the area – a grilled mac & cheese sandwich with bacon. It was fantastic (maybe not so much if you aren't into carbs though). Sounds crazy, I know – but have a look:

I picked this to order as it struck my eye as a special on the menu, but they also offer many traditional burgers you can pick from or build your own. I also foolishly got my order "to go" – the "for here" dishes were served in a much more presentable fashion for pictures! (I guess I'll just have to go back!).

The location also offers a "bar" (no drinks) in the front where you can sit and get some work done – it was one of the first nice days of the Spring season here, so the windows were wide open and it was a great place to sit and get some work done while having a snack! Definitely check it out if you're in the area (or even if you're not – the Astoria NYC Ferry is a cheap way to get there for $2.75 from Midtown!).
