East River Esplanade: A “must-do” when visiting NYC

Though the Upper East Side is becoming an extremely hot and trendy new location, the Esplanade is relatively unknown to tourists and those outside the area.

Though there is currently construction going on, you can still walk all the way from the NYC Ferry stop down to the entry to the Roosevelt Island tram (59th St bridge).

If you’re feeling adventurous like I was this evening, you can walk all the way from the ferry down (E 90 St) down along FDR Drive to the East Village (it’s a long walk — but you can do any portion if it that you’d like!). You’ll get an amazing tour of the new neighborhoods being built along the East River due to the expansion of the Lexington Avenue Subway line and the construction of the Second Avenue Q line.

Whether you’re just coming to sit and enjoy the view of Queens or for exercise, it is an attraction well worth seeing!
